The 2024 Wuxi International Cherry Blossom Festival commenced on March 21st at Yuantouzhu, enchanting and connecting visitors with its blooming cherry blossoms. Nearly a hundred representatives of international students from Jiangnan University were cordially invited to take part in the event and showcase their talents on stage.
Amidst the picturesque cherry blossom valley, international students had the opportunity to appreciate performances by various international art groups, experiencing the diverse cultures of different countries and immersing themselves in the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture, including the Erhu and Peking Opera. As the event unfolded, JNU international student representatives took center stage and demonstrated Chinese opera radio calisthenics, exhibiting the beauty of Chinese theatrical arts through every move and pose. Their vibrant energy and passion for Chinese culture were fully displayed. Students from Malaysia and Bangladesh delighted the audience with their heartfelt rendition of the Chinese song “Beautiful Myth,” conveying a profound sense of friendship that resonated through their melodious voices. The crowd responded with resounding applause, acknowledging their outstanding performance.
The Wuxi International Cherry Blossom Festival has become a prominent cultural affair, emerging as a signature event for people-to-people exchanges with the international community. Over the years, international students from our university have actively participated in this event, experiencing the beauty and genuine hospitality of Wuxi through the activities. Moreover, they have actively worked to promote Wuxi’s image through various channels and enhance the city’s international appeal, therefore contributing to friendly exchanges between Chinese and foreign people.
