Notice on the work schedule of June 2022 Academic Degree
In accordance with the requirements of the detailed rules for Doctoral and Master Degrees awarding of Jiangnan University and other documents, we hereby notify you of the work related to the conferment of graduate degrees in June 2022 as follows:
1．Submit the application for the degree defense
(1）Starting from the date of defense application is opened as mentioned below, graduate students will log on to the graduate information management system of Jiangnan University, enter scientific research results, carefully fill in self-evaluation of degree qualifications and verification of degree awarding data, submit a degree defense application, and submit an electronic version of the dissertation (PDF format) that meets the blind review requirements in the system. The materials required for the college to accept the application and the application deadline shall be subject to the regulations of each college
Opening time for submission of defense applications in the system:
Doctor: 29 March - 7 April；
Master: April 8-14.
(2) Dissertations of graduate students of all categories must be tested for academic misconduct. All colleges should strengthen the examination of academic ethics of graduate dissertations, require all graduate students to abide by academic ethics and academic norms, and ensure the authenticity and originality of dissertations.
(3) Doctoral candidates must complete the pre-defense before submitting their degree defense application.
(4) The title of the electronic version of the thesis must be exactly the same as the dissertation title in the system when all the graduate students submit the defense application. If there is any inconsistency, the graduate student will bear the consequences. If you need to modify the topic of your thesis, you can submit the revision in the system, and the tutor can approve it. The specific path is: Opening and thesis - Thesis information modification - Application for topic modification. The electronic version of the paper submitted in the system should be prepared in strict accordance with the requirements of the blind review. If it is found that the requirements are not met (for example, there is no blind review cover, If you submit your tutor's name, student's name and student number, etc., you will be delayed until December to apply for the degree and will be blind (Graduate students who have reached the longest study period will be examined as the qualification of defense, but will be dealt with according to the relevant student status management method); If you still need to revise the paper, please contact your tutor to cancel the application and resubmit it.
2. Review of defense qualifications
The supervisor and the college shall examine the application through the graduate information management system, and strictly check the qualification of the application, focusing on whether the academic achievements published by the intended graduate students are up to the standard and whether the dissertation is in line with the requirements of blind examination. The College shall complete the examination in the system and submit the Summary Form (electronic version) to the Academic Degree Office before the following time nodes.
Doctor: April 8;
Master: April 15.
3.Blind Review of Papers
The graduate school degree Office retrieves all the doctoral dissertations and the master dissertations from the system for blind examination.
4. Thesis defense
Respective schools will organize thesis defenses. The timing of the defense is as follows:
Late May to early June.
5. Degree awarding
The faculty degree evaluation subcommittee will be held before June 9. The date of the university Degree evaluation committee (tentative): June 15.
6. Uploading the final version of the thesis
By June 15, graduate students will upload the final version of their dissertations in the graduate information system. The consequences of not submitting a thesis shall be borne by the graduate student himself/herself.
7. Graduation and departure from school
Graduates will follow and proceed in accordance with the relevant regulations of the University and schools.
8. Additional explanations
(1) Master's students who have not been awarded a degree but have obtained a graduation certificate for less than one year, and doctoral students who have not been awarded a degree but have obtained a graduation certificate for less than two years, if they need to participate in this degree application, please submit the application according to the time specified in the corresponding degree category.
(2) Graduate students who have reached the maximum number of years of study, if they have not yet met the degree requirements but have met the graduation requirements, they can first apply for a graduation defense only, and the time for applying for graduation defense is from April 26 to April 30. If only the graduation defense is applied, the thesis does not need to be blindly reviewed, and the blind evaluation work is carried out when the degree conditions are met in the future. The doctoral students can apply for a degree once within two years after the graduation defense, and the master's students can apply for a degree once within one year after the graduation defense, and the application after the expiration will not be accepted.
