1.     Qualifications

1.1    General Requirement

Citizenship: A citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China.

Health: Good and above.

Others: Well-mannered and of integrity.

l  An applicant whose either or both parents are Chinese citizens and lawful permanent residents of a foreign country and who, at birth, is a foreign citizen (with no Chinese nationality), is required to hold a foreign passport or a proof of nationality for at least 4 years upon applying to Jiangnan University (hereafter referred to as JNU, if any). Moreover, the said applicant is required to have resided in a foreign country for 2 years and above（9 months of residence in a foreign country would be calculated as 1 year subject to the entry and exit stamps at the customs）in the past 4 years (as of April 30 of the year of registration).

l  An applicant in Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who, upon emigration, obtains a foreign nationality is obliged to hold a foreign passport or a proof of nationality for at least 4 years upon applying to Jiangnan University. Moreover, the said applicant is obliged to have resided in a foreign country for 2 years and above（9 months of residence in a foreign country would be calculated as 1 year subject to the entry and exit stamps at the customs）in the past 4 years (as of April 30 of the year of registration).

1.2    Age and Language Requirements 

●  Applicants who have not reached the level of HSK-4 can apply for one-year Chinese language training courses, and then proceed to the program after meeting the requirement.

l  All the above materials are required to be color scanned and submitted. They are to be verified upon registration.

4.     Time Schedule

Application Time: November 1, 2022- March 31, 2023

Registration Time: Around the end of August to the beginning of September, which might vary with your offer or email notification from the university.

5.     Application and Admission Procedures

Step One:The applicant applies to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of the applicant’s home country for Chinese Government Scholarship opportunity, and ask for the information and Agency Number (The application deadline of each authority is different, and please apply as early as possible).

Step Two: The applicant completes the online application procedure at https://jiangnan.17gz.org/.   If the application materials meet the admission requirement of Jiangnan University, a conditional offer will be issued.

Step Three: The applicant completes the online application procedure at Chinese Government Scholarship Information System for  International Students  https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login. The Applicant selects Program Type A and consults the dispatching authorities for Agency Number. (Please select JIANGNAN UNIVERSITY as your FIRST OPTION).

Step Four: CSC reviews the applicant’s application.

Step Five: The applicant consults the dispatching authorities about the result.
